Introduction to StoryTime
Back when I was in seventh grade, my English teacher played a game where one person would start writing a story for two minutes. Then the person passed the story to another person who continued writing the story for another two minutes. When he was done, he passed it to the next person who would continue with this process. This game was very creative; it allowed people to add their own twist on life in a continuing story that would be read and continued by others. It was a very rewarding game when you see how others interpreted your writings and continued using your characters and situations. This website is an attempt at that game. One can register as an author and have the ability to add onto existing stories or start their own stories. However, this website takes that game to the next level: users not only can add to an existing story from start to finish: authors can create a story with the ending already written and authors add parts of the story backwards(a la Momento). Authors can also select to allow other writers to add parts of the story in any order. Authors set the rules of the story when he creates it. The author can set how many 'blocks'(or story fragments) the story will have. He can also set if users have the ability to go back and modify the fragments that they have added. He can also go back and change/delete the entries that he doesn't like. If he wants to limit the people who can add to the story, he can give the story a password and give the password to only the authors that he likes. I've tried to make creating stories as flexible as possible. The scripts are in place. Right now, it's up to you to unleash your creative touch and write something truly beautiful. |
